West Moreton Anglican College recognises the challenge of middle school students in making the transition from junior to senior school. The extensive Karrabin campus has a new Middle School facility with 3 general learning areas, science lab, home economics room, staff room and amenities block. The college’s commitment to providing quality resources also means that students are now enjoying high level Physical Health Education facilities in their new extended buildings. Advanced communications and security installations, extensive
power distribution, and energy efficiency measures were delivered as part of this project.

The contract involved the following components:

  • New middle school building comprising of 3 GLA’s, 1 science lab, 1 home ec room, amenities block, staff rooms, extension to PH and PE buildings
  • Demolition of the electrical and communication installation on the existing site
  • Underground reticulation system – conduits and pits
  • Power distribution system including modifications to the existing site MSB, modifications to existing distribution boards, new sub-mains and new distribution boards
  • Cable support systems
  • Power requirements to suit GLA’s, Home Economics room, Science Laboratory, Amenities block and Staff rooms
  • Emergency lighting system installed in accordance with AS 2293
  • LED Car Park Lighting
  • Presence detector lighting control system
  • Energy Efficient lighting
  • External feature lighting
  • Extension of the existing security system
  • CCTV IP camera System
  • PTZ camera system for educational purposes
  • Certified CAT6 communications system
